Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2000
Time: 1200 EDT

We left Atlantic City on the high tide early this morning and motor sailed along the coast of New Jersey bound for anchorage tonight in Gravesend Bay just outside the Verrazano Narrows Bridge in the Outer Harbor of New York. This is where the TallShips from around the world will gather on the evening of July 3rd for the OpSail 2000 Parade of Sail on July 4th.

You can see Monday's track in orange, Tuesday in red and today in green. We soon approach Barnegat Inlet known for strong tidal currents!

Wind: SW Force 4
Visibility: Reduced in hot, hazy weather

Captain: Amanda Madeira
Program Coordinator: Inette Rex

We would like to thank Lotus and IBM for donation of software, hardware and funding to enable regular electronic updates from the ship.

NOAA Chart is provided courtesy of Maptech using Cruising Navigator 4.3 and grabbing the image using Grabit Pro 6.02.
