Ernestina Logbook Page

Date: Saturday, July 8, 2000
Time: 1600 EDT

Schooner Ernestina lays dockside for Summerfest all day with great company in ships representing 18th, 19th, and 20th century examples of fishing vessels.

The music and crafts are top notch and the Whaling City Rowing Club holds time trials with their three Beetle-design boats for the big races on Sunday.

Capt. Dan Moreland's Bark Picton Castle comes in at 1400 and sends a whaleboat over to get into the races and then docks on the east face of State Pier.

Pilon Cola plays work songs with wonderful rythyms on the deck of Ernestina. No choice but dance!

The Wind: N'ly Force 1
Visibility: Excellent

Captain: Willi Bank
Program Coordinator: Crista Mellican

We would like to thank Lotus and IBM for donation of software, hardware and funding to enable regular electronic updates from the ship.
