We called Halifax Traffic at 0420 as we approached the traffic lanes. With a beautiful sunrise behind us, we left the peace of the open water and entered the busy harbor of Halifax under full sail . Our banners all flying , we sailed North passing many of the berthed ships and struck sail.

Schooner Ernestina came alongside the Barque Picton Castle at Tall Ships Quay on the Halifax waterfront at 0935. We find ourselves in company with many of the great ships we've been traveling with throughout the events of the Eastern Seaboard and Canadian Maritimes.

Laney Briggs came by from the Norfolk Rebel. He's been in at all of the same ports with us. We're talking up a future visit to the Canadian Maritimes for next year. Lane's son, Steve, sailed as captain on Ernestina for the 1995 sailing season.
