We are dockside at Fan Pier at the
Federal Court House Building in Boston after two
programs today with Outdoor Explorations. The first sail from 9am to 3pm took us
out to the Harbor islands and back with a shorter
version of last Sunday's sail. Participants
steered, navigated, looked at plankton and
climbed out onto the bowsprit. The groups were
small so the staff had some great interaction and
could focus on individual questions and interests
more.
The second sail was a Board
Event for OE. We appreciate the commitment and
enthusiasm exhibited by all aboard as we left the
dock with rain showers (not much wind)
threatening every step of the way. Event so,
informal stations, a wonderful spread of food,
silent auction and a great set of speakers made
the experience challenging and full. We motored
(actually the jumbo was up for a short time) over
to see the USS Constitution, up under the Mystic
Bridge and back along the Boston waterfront.
Wind: SW'ly, Force 2
Visibility: Sunny, Excellent, then reduced in
rain.
