New England. If you wait a minute, the
weather will change. That was surely the case
today. Schooner Ernestina's After School groups
along with members of the Community Boating
Center gathered under threatening skies this
morning to explore Buzzards Bay. The radar images
were closely monitored by Capt. Willi Bank and
the decision to go was made. As soon as we left
the dock, the skies opened, but we continued on.
All kids and parents worked their way through 5
stations dealing with navigation, knot tying,
bow/helm, sharks, and plankton. By late morning,
the weather finally broke, giving us a great view
of a "sun dog" and 5 groups of students
and parents made their way out onto the bowsprit
for an incredible view of Buzzards Bay. Traudi
led a packed station on turks head bracelet
making and quite a few students got to take long
turns at the helm. Travis did a great job get us
back into the harbor. The day ended with
beautiful sunshine and smiling faces. Captain: Willi Bank
