SEA Connections Summer Content Institute for Science Teachers
Underway Day 4

Today began with a dory row ashore for an hour and a half with plenty of time for a Quick run out in the rescue boat to catch another Blue Fish.

After everyone and the fish were back on board, it's anchor aweigh and motor sailing out of the Sakonnet River to round the corner of the next point and enter Narragansett Bay bound for Fall River by 4pm.

The wind proved fair for the entire run up in to the Bay with the Islands deflecting the wind at certain places to make for some tricky 'by the lee' sailing with the main sail all the way out.

We did a thorough cleaning of the ship in time to enjoy our passing of theUS Coast Guard Bark Eagle at her anchorage just below Mt. Hope Bay. Eagle will join us in Fall River for Fall River Celebrates America on Friday.

The lower of the two chart images shows our passage for the four days of the Institute.

Many thanks to Alan Lee Hankin for his great effort and wealth of knowledge and his efforts as project director in SEA Connections sixth year.
