Greens Farms Academy Five-day Program
Portland to Gloucester
Third DayA light S'Wstrlybreeze filled
in and we anchored up in Richmond Harbor Island
in Richmond Island for the night.
After a swim call, the Harvey Gamage
invited both ships over for a gam after
supper. Much music and storytelling were
shared by all.
The two charts show the track of the day for
our anchorage this evening off Richmond Island
south of Cape Elizabeth.
Ahhh....life on board is like poetry
This was submitted by Reid, Joe and Lyman on day
three:
- Hi! my name is Bobster the
lobster
Today I woke up and got out of bed
to my surprise there was a boat above my head
The kids soon awoke when they
were poked
Although it was 6, they seemed to be stoked
The love of their life is Dora
Lee
she cooks the best food there could ever be
Breakfast was served, it was
very well deserved
the two-time dishwashers were quite
un-nerved
The anchor started rising when
we were realizing
they needed to leave as ordered by Steve
The kids aboard were tying
knots
while the helmsman was dodging the pots
The sail was half day
then Zack started to play
As they gathered around the
guitar
the two other boats were not too far
Reid and Lyman did a flip
off the bow of the ship.
While the others just froze
from their head to their toes
Dinner was pork
which was pierced by their fork
Then Ebo and Steve had to leave
to go aloft from which the fall isn't soft
After Joe and Zack sang
the bed-time bell rang
That's the end of their day -
So as old sailors say - Hip - Hip
Hooray!
