Boy Scout Troop
270
Pembroke, NHThe chart
image to the right shows the track of the ship
for the sail today. After packing up all the gear
over at Taber Park, the group hiked back to the
ship at Billy Woods Wharf and boarded for another
day of program.
The ship remained at dockside
longer than expected because of the extremely low
tides of late (spring tides) and the bow
'touching' in the mud at the head of the slip. It
was simply a matter of waiting for the tide to
rise along with help from the windlass and engine
astern to back away and get underway in
mid-afternoon.
Not to worry, the crew and
scouts kept busy with learning stations and
activities throughout the day.
