Waldorf
School of Cape Cod Well, we made
it to Newport with the wind still blowing a
steady 25 knots with gusts. We ended up
taking a "tall ship" mooring in the
Harbor so we would not be pinned to the dock,
banging up against the dock all night.
All participants were ferried
ashore by the Old Port Launch and met by
parents. In spite of the weather, the trip
went well overall!
In the images to the right, you
can see our overall track for the last day, at
the helm with the wind well behind us and the
mains'l sheeted out, topping up the reefed
mains'l with the crew lined up along the main
boom, hanging out on the after deck, aloft in the
foremast rigging, and running ashore in the
launch at the end of the trip.....
Check back in these pages over
the next week and we'll post student log entries
that are on the way or that people send. You can
submit short writeups to be posted to editor@ernestina.org
