Wake up
at 6am brought on a hardy breakfast on deck and chores before
another cool and satisfying swim call was in order. Following
our swim call with everyone safe on board our anchor raised,
we set off for final destination in New Haven, CT. Weather was beautiful once
again and watch groups broke into responsibilities including
bow and helm while other students worked on boat
checks.
The sail over to New Haven took
most of the day due to a gentle breeze. Students set sails and
learned about wooden boat building and tools of the trade. Dr
Walker gave another interesting lecture on Maritime History as
the day flew by.
Soon we found ourselves in New Haven and at
the point to disembark. With a farewell to all the BU students
who made the week such a memorable one, hugs and many pictures
later we said goodbye until next time (we hope many students will be
back to volunteer!!!!!!) Program
