Throughout
the program, students have been working to complete a
checklist of different lines and knots.
Today after field day students were rewarded for
completing their checklists by being given the chance to climb
the rigging. With
another beautiful day and clear skies, students could see
across the bay to New Bedford.
We
got underway midmorning, and students spent some time working
on a final presentation as a watch about their time onboard. These presentations were presented right after lunch.
A watch sang a song, B watch played some group games,
and C watch did a safety skit.
The crew also put together a ‘slide show’ skit with
Traudi commentating. It
was a great way to end the trip.
We arrived at the dock in New Bedford at 1400 and had
one final closing circle with all the students. We presented certificates and said thank yous all around.
On behalf of the entire crew, this was a great trip and
we look forward to sailing with St. Margaret’s McTernan again
in the future.
