Yard Work at D.N. Kelley & Son Shipyard, Fairhaven, MA

Extensive work continues at Kelley's Yard with planking stripped away to be able to inspect and replace futtocks. Futtocks are bolted together to make up the frames (ribs).

Bilge and septic plumbing is pulled out of the fish hold for inspection and maintenance 

Tony Marques uses a chain saw to cut futtocks that are then chiseled out

The planks ends are staggered and ready for the turn toward reconstruction

Futtocks are marked with an 'x' for replacement

Templates are formed as the work turns toward installation of new futtocks. The wood arrived over the weekend. Futtocks are seven inches thick making frames 14" of white oak.
