Today
starts with anchors aweigh followed by an otter trawl off
Padanaram Harbor. What a great catch including squid and
mantis shrimps! After the gear was stowed we sailed off under
the four lower sails to Tarpaulin Cove on Naushon Island, via
Menemsha Bight, for the night.
Once at Tarpaulin Cove, the dories went over
for a trip ashore to explore.
Anchor's aweigh!
With the anchor on the
surface the windlass is secured.
At the helm, getting

sea.
The catch from the trawl is
closely observed and discussed.
An aerator runs off batteries
to keep the catch alive while students take a look.
The trawl brought up a wide
variety of fish.
Preparing to board the dory.
One dory crew set off for the
beach.
